Imagine you have the perfect location for the destination wedding of your dreams at Mayan Riviera, but to get married there you will need to go for the wedding off the resort. All you will need to get is a good wedding planer who will be willing to organize your dream wedding at this wonderful location and then get ready for the unique experience!

A perfect cenote zazilha wedding in tulum

These days, there are more and more brides going off-resort to have their perfect and exclusive wedding day at local venues in Tulum or Mayan Riviera, which is what Erik and I opted for ourselves by the way. Could there be something more important that your privacy, real nature, direct communication and flexibility of the person in charge and an incredibly unique experience for you and your guests?! For us the answer is clear. The non-resort wedding in Tulum would be definitely our first option if we would decide to get married again and again in Mexico (: That was also Corissa and Jason’s choice. Their intimate outdoor wedding celebration at Tulum’s cenote Zazil-Ha was so organic, relax and beautiful that we couldn’t stop taking pictures of all details and emotions surrounding this event. Fabulous day and wonderful couple, don’t miss their pre-wedding photo session at Hard Rock Riviera Maya Resort before you keep reading about this charming off-resort wedding through Corissa’s eyes and the reason that pushed them to make this choice:

We have been visiting the Mayan Riviera together since we were seventeen. We love the atmosphere, the beauty that surrounds everything in the area and how relaxing and intimate a destination wedding is. We also got engaged at the Moon Palace just over a year before we got married in Tulum. It is a very special place to us, and there is nowhere else we would rather celebrate our love and union. After getting engaged, we both watched the resort weddings and they all seemed very public. We wanted a private venue surrounded by natural beauty, which made getting married at a cenote of Tulum perfect for us. We could not have been happier with our wedding venue – the cenote itself was gorgeous! We also couldn’t get over how private it is since it was quite a distance from any towns. It was the perfect backdrop to an even more perfect day.
It was relaxing, fun, exciting, emotional and full of more love than we could ever have imagined. We both went for massages in the morning and my bridesmaids joined me for pedicures before getting ready. Having a wedding planner, being in such a relaxing environment and knowing that we were about to declare our love and commit ourselves to each other for life made the day feel so easy and fun! Saying our vows and declaring our love for one another in front of the people that mean the most to us is something that we will remember forever. We had so much fun at every point in our day it is really hard to narrow it down. For us though, our wedding was all about love. Our love for each other and for the people who travelled and shared every beautiful moment of our wedding with us. There is not one single thing we would have changed about it.

Corissa, is there any advice you’d like to give future brides or grooms in preparation of their perfect off-resort wedding? Definitely get a wedding planner! Sabrina at Weddings Riviera Maya made all the planning so easy! Also, it’s your day. Your wedding is all about you and the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with. All the small details don’t matter. At the end of the day you are fully committed to your best friend and your soul mate for life and that is what will make your wedding day perfect.
