Virginia and Eric choose to celebrate their destination wedding at Playa del Carmen, Mexico. This privet beach is just few minutes away from Playa del Carmen and it’s name is Blue Venado beach Club, perfect place for small destination weddings! Truly lovely couple truly in love and their day shows it so well. A few weeks after the big day, Virginia the bride shares with us her memories from this beautiful celebration at the beach with family and friends:
Can you tell us about the day through your eyes? We did not want the resort feel for our wedding. We wanted it to be a little more private and directly on the beach. Blue Venado allowed us to have some flexibility with our guest’s accommodations as well. A lot of the resorts wanted us to have at least 90% of our guest list staying at the resort and we did not want people to feel obligated to stay at a specific resort. The big day was full of emotions and nerves (and mimosas). Getting ready was casual and easy with family all around but as soon as Erik showed up to start taking pictures it seemed to get very real all of a sudden. Everything was about to happen. Erik brought the emotions to the surface for all of us. There were a few tears shed and hugs given. Eric traveled with all of our guests and I arrived later with my Mother. Upon arrival the sun was shining and the turquoise water was glistening. All our guests were enjoying the shade before they ventured out into the sunshine. We had exceptional weather considering the weather leading up to the wedding. We did not see the venue set up for the wedding prior to the wedding ceremony. We were very pleased with the wedding location and ended up feeling very private even though there were people at the beach club. It was simple but perfect. There were little added touches like starfish and shells throughout the ceremony area. Our ceremony was short and sweet. We wrote our own vows and they perfectly represented each of us. The love that was felt that day will continue throughout our marriage. It went off without a hitch.
Is there any advice you’d like to give future brides or grooms in preparation for their big day in Riviera Maya? A destination wedding doesn’t have to be expensive or any wedding in that case. Figure out what is important and spend your money in those areas. For us capturing the essence of our wedding was important, so we spent money on professional photographers.
